Uber for Talent is designed to support lawful hiring and marketplace operations. This page describes how we approach regulatory expectations and the responsibilities shared with our users.
1. Platform posture
- Privacy practices aligned with our Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection principles.
- Security controls described on our Security page, including MFA options and access controls.
- Admin audit trails for sensitive administrative actions on the Platform.
- Account review workflows for onboarding and risk-based approval where enabled.
2. Data protection
We process personal data for stated marketplace purposes such as account management, matching, communications, payments support, and fraud prevention. Users may submit access, correction, or deletion requests through Support. Where local laws grant additional rights, we honor those rights as required.
3. Employment and contractor compliance
Employers and job seekers remain responsible for complying with employment, labor, immigration, tax, contractor classification, anti-discrimination, and wage laws that apply to their engagements. Uber for Talent provides marketplace tooling and does not replace legal advice or employer obligations unless a written agreement expressly states otherwise.
4. Acceptable use and integrity
We prohibit fraud, identity misuse, spam, and unlawful postings. We may verify accounts, request additional documentation, withhold features, or suspend users when needed to protect the marketplace and comply with law. Users must not use the Platform to evade sanctions, export controls, or other regulatory restrictions applicable to them.
5. Payments and records
Transaction records may be retained to support billing, dispute resolution, accounting, and legal obligations. Payment processors may independently apply KYC/AML checks based on their programs and applicable financial regulations.
6. Law enforcement and legal process
We may disclose information when required by valid legal process or when necessary to protect users, the Platform, or the public from imminent harm. Where legally permitted, we aim to narrow requests and document disclosures.
7. Questions and escalation
For compliance, privacy, or security questions, contact Support through the Platform. For formal notices related to legal process, use the contact channels published in your regional terms or admin notices.
